I bought Jurassic Park!

Really! I did. (Can't half tell it's royalty month, can you... hehehe). Well actually, it's a house, not Jurassic Park, but of course... there's a story...

It's all thanks to Dace. You see, Firstborn (she's the famly Real Estate Guru) and I looked at this house, and fell in love with it, and I made an offer, but the agent told me not to get my hopes up, because someone else had made an offer a few minutes before me.

Nonetheless, I arranged for Secondborn and Dace to come back and view the house a couple of hours later. As I'm discussing the deal with agent, Dace discovered the sky-walk out back that leads to the yard at the top of the hill behind the house. He came screaming inside yelling, "Nana! Nana! I've found Jurassic Park!!"

The agent told the owners what he'd said and we got the house over the other offer because they thought he was so cute.

He really does have his uses, our Dace:)

Anyway, here's the house.

If you want to see the virtual tour, go here.

I now have to decide what to do with my very large, made out of a single tree dining suite that won't fit... hmmm

On the bright side, you should see the view from my office!

Well... there's no changing it now...

Just got the final proof of The Chaos Crystal cover.

All my tantrums about palm trees have fallen on deaf ears:)

If you're really excited, you can pre-order it from Galaxy Books. Squeee!

BTW, the DVD sale contiues apace, but there are still quite a few left, so hop to it! :)

The Great Fallon clean-up DVD Sale

I have two custom built DVD racks that take up to 800 DVDs, which I decided was more than enough for one person to own.

Naturally, they are now overflowing, so I'm having a clean out. I was going to list these on eBay, but then I decided to give you guys first option.

So, here's the deal. Below is a list of DVDs. Most are Region 4, but there are a few others scattered in there so, unless you have an open region DVD player, don't go buying stuff you can't play.

This will be a "first in, best dressed," deal so whoever emails me first, gets the DVD. I'll send them out via Express Post, so the postage will depend on how many DVD's you want and how many I can cram in a post bag. If you're not in Australia, I'll have to check with the post office and let you know the price of shipping.

If you email me here, I will get back to you about the postage. You can pay through Paypal or Bank Transfer. I'll send you the details after I hear from you.

I'll leave this up for a month or so, and then post what's left on eBay after that.

Update: if the list seems to be getting smaller, It's becasue I'm deleting the ones that people have put dibs on as they're taken

Food for thought...

Here's an interesting take on the value of Amazon reviews.

What do you think? It is true that only 1% of Amazon reviews are useful?

Living on Mars...

These are more photos from the big storm we had on Monday.

They're now saying it was the equivalent of a Category 2 Cyclone.

BTW, these photos have not been retouched. This really was the colour of the sky.

Thanks to Tess, via Luke for the photos
