A few questions about Abba...

So... there are lots of signs around here advertising "The Best Abba Show in New Zealand", which I think is on sometime in March in one of the local town halls.

So here're my questions...

  • How many Abba shows are there getting about NZ?
  • Does the worst Abba show advertise too? (Hey... coming soon... the worst Abba show in NZ)?
  • Are there only two show (the best and the worst), a whole mess of them, or are this outfit the only one and therefore the best by default?

I have pondered these questions a lot lately...

Which in itself is a sad commentary on my life...hehehe

Bruce 0 - Hedgehog 1

Mount Bruce found a hedgehog in our yard yesterday.

Unfortunately for Bruce, he thought it was just a really slow cat and did what he usually does when he spots any sort of cat, slow or otherwise. He runs up to it and starts nudging it with his nose, hoping it will play with him.

Got rather a rude shock, did our Brucie, when he nudged the hedgehog and got a nostril full of spines...

Anyway, we rescued the rather traumatised hedgehog and Dace released him in the back paddock where Bruce can't try to make him play.

Needless to say, Dace thought it was pretty cool, too...

Bruce... behaving like a real dog

We took Bruce to a very picturesque waterhole today, fully expecting him to be afraid of the water, like he was when we took him to the ocean.

Turns out he likes waterholes. He had a ball...

Mount Bruce is liking Middle Earth very much:)

All hail to big strong boys with tats and piercings...

We got a flat tyre, today, in the Bunnings carpark at Tower Junction.

That's cool... me and Secondborn are independent women of the world, more than capable of changing a tyre, even if SB's back is stuffed and I'm not supposed to lift anything because of the breast cancer surgery...

And nor did we have to. After discovering the jack was missing it's crank handle, we were trying to find the number of the Automobile Association we'd joined the day before (which meant we didn't have our membership cards with us), when a noble knight in shining tats and piercings asked us if we needed help.

We asked if he had a crank handle for the jack.

Not only did he have one, but he changed the tyre in about 5 minutes flat for us.

Thank God for Big Strong Boys

I didn't get his name, but thank-you cute-yet-scary-looking guy.

You are our hero:)

Where's my stuff?

Well, I have a desk (or a "disk" as they say here in Kiwi Land...hehehe).

I have a footstool.

But I'm still sleeping on a sofa bed.

My 40' container of, well, everything else I own, is still sitting on a wharf in Melbourne somewhere, waiting on a ship..

If it doesn't turn up soon, I'm going to just claim the insurance and go shopping with the proceeds, except I am sooo over flat-packed furniture I never want to see another allen key again as long as I live.

On the upside... we bought a very awesome (and rather Austin Powers) white leather lounge for the gallery where the writers' workshops will be held.

All I need now is the projector and the grand piano in the corner...
