So... I have finished The Undivided amidst the installation of 3 woodburning fires because there is nothing but (hideously expensive)electrical heating in this very, very very large house.

So... the fires are all only partly installed because the job's taking longer than they thought it would (natch). I can't move for crap everywhere that we had to pull out to let the workman in to install the chimneys, one of them has put his foot through the ceiling, they have've had hire a cherry-picker to get on the roof; they won't go up there if it's raining or icy (in Oxford in June - what else is there!) and they miscalculated the flue by six metres! This is after we found out last week that the company we ordered the fires from back in February!!!!!!!! (for the second time) didn't order them so we spent most of last week trying to find a different model with the same flue so we could buy them and get the building permits changed in time...

And the... just when I'm ready to take a heaving sigh of relief, it suddenly occured to me that in less than 2 weeks I'm on a plane to Australia for Supanova in Sydney and Perth.

This trip also includes a little side trip back to Alice Springs to deal with my f**kwit landscaper who is suing me becasue I refused to pay $6000 over a quote for a job that has to be pulled down and rebuilt because it's illegal. What fun.

Where did 2010 go?????

Hello jennifer, and thank you. I had despaired of ever finding a writer as amazing as Robin Hobb until I stood in the local library with 'Wolfblade'in my hands.That was a couple of weeks ago. I quickly finished the Hythrun Chronicles and today Sunday June 6th I finished The Demon Trilogy.I am a great believer in, Íf we can imagine it, then somewhere and somehow it is real.'Perhaps not in the dimension that some of us find ourselves in at the moment but some 'magicalwhere' So again I say thank you, for just being you with the ability to bring so many of us so much joy!! Now don't let all that praise go to your head..... go out there and knock some tradesmens heads !!! xxx

Jealous of those wood fires..(They are worth the effort!) I find chopping wood very Cathartic. I think it helped me survive puberty.. Next time your landscape gardener contacts you, take it all out on the wood!
