Heading home from Uluru...

I'm at the hotel, on the reception internet computers (at $2 per 6 mins) because I couldn't be bothered unpacking the laptop. I'm here because it's freezing in my room and reception is all made of glass (so you can see Ayers Rock). It's minus 1C outside and very toasty in here, but it must be like a blast furnace here in summer when it gets up over 45'.

So... highlights of my trip...

  • Screaming around Yulara in an ambulance at high speed with the sirens and lights on, scaring the tourists, because it was the monthly scheduled siren testing day. And why wouldn't you do that at high speed through a posh tourist resort? Testing it back at the Medical Centre in the carpark is so, well, boring.
  • Having to suspend the training while we waited for the Rangers to come and collect the highly venemous (but very pretty) baby Western King Brown snake that wandered into the clinic looking for mum.

Ranger released into the garden outside because he reckons that's probably where the rest of the nest is. Oh goody... A nest of Western King Brown snakes in the garden. How nice.
Truly, my life is never dull:)

PS: Didn't finish the short story, but came up with a much better idea for it, so that's next week's rewrite.

Truly Jenny, your life really is so exciting and adventurous, never seems to be a dull moment. No wonder your books are so great to read.
I've just finished the Tide Lord series and now that I've found out there were more that you have written I can't wait until my next pay so I can go and splurge :)
All the best from a new fan.
