The cover of The Chaos Crystal is revealedWell, here it is... What do you think? Personally, I think it's very pretty. Lovely colours, spectacular landscape. And yes, Coron the Rat is sitting on Lukys's shoulder. (Told you it was all about the rat.. hehehe) The artist has done a brilliant job and I think it's gorgeous... except for one teensy-weensy little problem - I'll never be able to hold my head up in a Worldbuilding class again as long as I live... LOL What are your thoughts on the logistics of wearing armour on a trip to a continent which is roughly the equivalent of Antarctica? No character in the series does this, of course, like, ever, but you'd never know by looking at the cover... :)

Well, at least he'll be able to fight the ice trolls now.
Well, as long as no one tries to lick his armour...
Hahahahaha!
I was hoping for purple. I'm not sure why. I guess cause you had already had blue, red and green. Also, the ice palace doesn't look as big or impressive as I imagined, but I'll assume that's because it is so far away. The colours and cover over all are very pretty. Now all we need is the back cover...
thought the rat was dead? hmmmmm..... sneaky. as for the armour-well he's immortal so a) why does he need to bother b)he's immortal so he wont freeze or anything c)looks damn good. cant wait for it to come out!!!
Maybe he has heated armour? Sorry...I can't get the image of someone licking the armour out of my head.
people might want to lick Lukys? They deserve all they get then!
That's not the Palace of Impossible Dreams, Mary.
It's a giant phallic symbol put there by the artist for reasons I am at a loss to explain and is in no way related to either the world or the story. Bit like the armour, actualy:)
So. It's a bit like those old SF covers; y'know, the ones that had the aliens tearing the clothes off a nubile human woman, when the book didn't contain even one female character. The more things change, the more they stay the same. :)
Yup...
Still doesn't top the pole dancer on the Russian cover of Harshini:)
I thought you had been promised your ice palace for this book? Or was I mistaken?
No, Mary, you weren't mistaken. But we authors are merely cogs in a very large machine, and to be honest, authors are not always the best jusdge of what should be on a cover.
I often get my first hint about the foreign edition covers when they pop up on Amazon:)
But where are the palm trees???
Armour aside, you'd imagine Lukys'd want a bigger cloak. Although he can't feel the cold, can he? And maybe he just forgot he had the armour on, or, alternative, he's a vain man and it makes him feel manly and tough. Anyway, does this mean Lukys lied about his rat being dead? Does he just intend to lure all the immortals down there and manipulate them into trapping themselves in ice? And if it is earth, then will we all be in danger of another age of immortals if/when the ice caps melt enough? It really is time to put a halt to global warming. All in all, v. shiny cover.
Aww...I wanted to point out the lack of palm trees :)
Ah Isabel... so near and yet so far....
Muwahahahaha
