The call for better villiansWell, you all picked it. One random bit of coconut and I'm a gonner. Good news is it wasn't too serious and I'll soon be back in the land of the Unmedicated and Able to Move Without Cussing. In the meantime, here's something for you to ponder. Why We Deserve Better Villains — And How To Get Them It's a very thought provoking article. And I agree. Give me villians that are totally irredeemable. It's all Luke Skywalker's fault when you think about it. If he hadn't started on that "save my daddy" campaign and made Darth Vader go all noble and goody-goody at the end of Return of the Jedi, the world of super-villiany would be a much more interesting place:)

Palpatine...he's a very evil villian...and we never get his 'full' backstory...Why was he sith? ah but I enjoy him...he's evil. Never had a soul in my book.
hey I just figured out I dont really want a villian's life story...hints are good but if hes a villian...just make him evil and be done with it... rambling now...
Eh, I liked Palpatine before Lucus dicided to make the prequals, he was a much better villan before the prequals came out.
I personaly like my Villans to be complex, even if you don't know their orign story. Take The Joker in the new batman movie for instance, you know absolutly nothing about him but he is SO intelegent and devious that the Hero has to rise to compleatly new hights to defeat him. It's at TOTALY bad ass villan that makes the Heros worth rooting for i think.
I suppose I'll be the dissenting voice.
I enjoy learning all about the backstory of the villain--as long as it's done the right way, of course. I think it makes them much more realistic, rather than just a cardboard-cutout villain.
That article reminded why I place Belagren as the real villian over Marquel
Coconut....really? When I tell people I'm allergic to coconut they look at me like I'm from another planet. How nice to know I'm not alone.
