Catching up...

Well... that was a fun week...

First there was the whole looming deadline thing... but The Chaos Crystal is off to all the various editors it need to go to (both Australia and the US... not sure when the Germans want it...).

Then some friends arrived from interstate, got really sick, had to cancel all their plans and fly home early.

Then Mount Bruce decided to eat Fluffy. 20 stitches later, Bruce is no longer allowed inside the house, Fluffy is recovering from her surgery and Burce is very lucky to be alive, 'cause when his mum says "I'm gonna kill you!" she actually means it. She has the key the safe at the clinic where they keep the Lethabarb.

And then I got sick with a head cold. I rarely get sick, so naturally, I am being a complete wuss about it.

And then something happened to Telstra's lines 300k north of town and we lost the internet for days. They were on the news yesterday apologising for the "interruption in their regular service", but telling us we should all be grateful because customers lost either their internet or their phones, and not both. How nice for them.

And then we discovered the domain name problem which is sorted for now, but is going to require 20 minutes on hold at International long distance rates to the US to fix it properly. Grrrr...

On the bright side, Bruce redeemed himself at midnight last night by providing a life saving blood transfusion for a very sick labrador. The Bruce Juice did its magic and Fred the lab is on the mend.

So, how was your week...

Comments

urk, pet stress, deadlines, internet interruption, and sick? That's just nasty. *sends some cyber red*

Whos Fluffy?
So um whats the next week looking like for you?

I'd suggest trying Skype for the US call; it should be relatively cheap to "Skype out" to a US number. Better than Telstra international rates, that's for sure!

Flew to Sydney for my 1Oth wedding anniversary. Spent lots of money on a ring and video camera. Saw Phantom of the Opera with Anthony Warlow, climbed the Harbour bridge and did a ghost tour of the Rocks. Got a free hug from Juan Mann. All par for the course really

My, my...your week was pretty boring and uneventful if you ask me...;)
Mine was a graveyard in comparison. Work and sleep; that's my life.

Fluffy is the 12 year old Maltese.

Fluffy - 5kg
Bruce 50kg

Messy....

You should know by now that a writer's life was never meant to be boring.

I hope you, your poor friends, Fluffy and Fred all are mending quickly.

As for Mount Bruce...he will miss trying to get into your lap. However, twenty stitches isn't scallywag behaviour.

The best bit is the week *HAS* to get better.

your life sounds a lot like mine (apart from the writting excellent books bit) if something crazy is going to happen its going to happen to me - some highlights from my week have been a fighting husband and wife staying with us while waiting to fly out of town... that was VERY uncomfortable, knocking a hundred tins of tuna off a display in woollies, not being able to go into my kitchen for two hours because the fighting husband and wife were "making up" in there....and the week isnt even over, i got a dentist appointment to look forward to tomorrow! cripes.
