For reasons that will become obvious some day, I have been looking into the Flat Earth Society. Next thing I know, Sonny Whitelaw (who is creepier at getting me informaiton I want before I even know I want it than my 'puter) sent me a link to the blog of the NZ Chapter of the Flat Earth Society.

We at the Flat Earth Society have spent so many years out in the cold, shunned by Government, science and most of society.
But on Friday night a glimmer of hope appeared for us in the form of the climate sceptic group, the NZ Climate Science Coalition. They were hosting a talk by the Australian climate sceptic (and stratigraphist which is about rock layering) Bob Carter, at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron in Auckland We couldn't afford the dinner, so we got a little appeal letter
So how did we get on? The reaction was largely one of confusion, with a both hilarity and anger in equal doses.
People thought we were protestors - HELL, NO, we said – we seek solidarity, we said! We are reaching out in friendship! Some really didn't believe us. Terry Dunleavy (of the international climate science coalition fame] was, for some reason, apoplectic.
It was a real shame we didn't get to see Bob Carter – as an expert in stratigraphy, (rock layers), we thought he'd be quite au fait with a number of our arguments and could be very useful to our cause.
I'm not sure what's more brilliant about this, their attempts to align themselves with the NZ Climate Science Coalition, or the comments on their blog offering support from other put-upon groups, such as the Art Researchers Coalition against Climate Change and the Pastafarians, through their prestigious blog publication, the International Journal of Inactivism, who's opening editorial proclaims:
"Many readers segued too easily from celebrating inactivism to championing outright sloth. For example, “Practice Random Acts of Self-Restraint” is a fine inactive motto. But “They can have my channel changer when they pry it out of my cold, dead hand,” while very funny is off point. “Don’t Mess With Stasis,” doesn’t quite rhyme but it’s got the right idea. “Think globally, act loafally,” meanwhile, has the wrong idea — except insofar as it mocks people with stupid bumper stickers."
OK... enough stuffing around... back to work now:)
Just as a clarification, we at the International Journal of Inactivism aren't really the Pastafarians -- I was just bringing up the idea that maybe the FES and the Pastafarians can strike some sort of alliance. :)
These are the Pastafarians. :) :)

O.o
Obviously code doesn't work in blog comments. xD
Now why would someone look apoplectic? It is obviously all very straight forward and scientifically sound if your ignore everything that has ever happened on earth or been discovered.

Greetings from the southern edge of the earth,
Its good to see our message of truth is getting out there in this world of spherical deceit and rigid peer reviewed science.
