I got my advance copy of The Chaos Crystal yesterday.

Declan the Psycho Pussy has already tried to eat it and now the cover is full of teethmarks.

And I've started to read it. It's a superstition of mine. Because I got published after deciding I would only write stuff I like to read, I have to read every book I write in book form at least once to make certain I'm still doing just that.

I know... I've gone through it a score of times already. And there was the whole... you know, writing it thing...

I can't explain it, but once the story is a book it's like someone else wrote it and I can finally sit down and read it for fun.

The day I read something I've written that I don't get a bit of fun from, I will quit writing, go on Project Runway and become a fashion designer.

I could do it too... I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine. Although, I must confess, when I suggested to my agent recently that I might quit writing and become a designer, she didn't sound terrribly enthusiastic about the plan.

I can't imagine why:)
