Don't mess with our creepy crawlies...There is a school of thought that Australia's tourist industry suffers somewhat from the fact that we have the most dangeous spiders and snakes in the world. I don't know where people get ideas like that...
I fell compelled to point out here that I live thousands of miles from Cairns. We only have the top five poisonous snakes in the world here in Central Australia. Bit boring really...

*g* And Cairns gets hurricanes. I knew there was a reason for staying put right where I am. I mean another reason apart from the wineries.
Wow. That looks like a dove too - not a tiny bird...

I'm so going to have nightmares now. I hate spiders and that photo is way creepy. Though the python pic is pretty cool.
LOL! I LOVE living in Cairns........ seriously! And I don't have to stress about being away from the wineries because all the good bottle shops up here stock Brown Bros wines, so I'm a happy little vegemite.
Even if I do have to walk around with a very big stick to fight off the spiders and pythons!
Actually, that particular python in the photo bit off more than it could chew and gave up, but there was another one that did manage to scoff the lot in someone's backyard - also in the Cairns Post
And they're not hurricanes *pokes tongue at Sharyn* they are cyclones! Last time I looked the Barrier Reef wasn't in the Atlantic Ocean *pokes tongue again then ducks*
A rose by any other name would still be a destructive force *g* And it's still more likely to hit you than me.
