The dawn of a brave new world...And no, I don't just mean because as I'm writing this, Barak Obama looks like he's going to win the US presidential election (Yay - on behalf of the rest of the planet!). Something much more important happened today. During its election telecast, CNN started using holograms to beam it's reporters into the studio. Seriously, dudes. Frackin' HOLOGRAMS! How? Well, according to Jessica Yellin, the world's first Hologramee reporter (yeah... yeah... I know... I made that word up) she was "inside a tent in Chicago that's been built -- engineers spent about three weeks doing it. There are 35 high-definition cameras ringing me, in a ring around me. I'm in the center. And they shoot my body at different angles, and I'm told that transmits what looks like an entire body image back there to New York. These cameras, I'm told, talk to the cameras in New York, so they move and they know when to move when the cameras in New York move." Yellin also said "It's like I'm following in the tradition of Princess Leia." Hahahaha The full story is here *Jenny wanders away muttering and shaking her head...* OMG. Fracking holograms...

Obama 44
Yay for the planet, down the toilet for America...
how tempting would it have been to lean down and whisper "Help me Obi Kenobi, you're my only chance!"?
I know- a hologram. I saw that and marvelled too. I saw Will I Am.
I feel very babylon 5: Our last, best hope.........
"Help me Obi Kenobi"
More like "Help me Obama Kenyobi" And let's hope he can.
Never fear Kirsten. We have universal health care in Australia and our democracy is doing just fine. :)
I don't know jennifer, about our democracy. The Rudd government actions over ISP filtering scare me.
They don't scare me. I used to run an ISP. They can talk about it all they want, but the logisitics are nightmarish. I doubt they'll ever manage to get it working, or if they do, it'll be so ridiculous, they'll have to change it, anyway.
His stance on this does bear out my contention, though, that Rudd really is Little Johnny H Jnr:)
