You'll sleep better tonight knowing this
I often get emails from hopeful fantasy writers wanting to know how I work out distances in my imaginary worlds. This is a question only another writer would ask, mind you, but it's one that can bring a story completely unstuck, if you get it wrong.
Trust me, your great epic will fall flat on it's face when you shift your massive army of noble, sword-weilding mounted knights across a continent in a week, unless they are using either magic or the full resources of the US Marine Corps. Now, because I'm essentially a lazy sort, and hate doing anything more than once if I have to, I have it all worked out in a table for easy reference. So, for the edification of those writers who want to know how I do it, and for the complete bewilderment of anybody else who doesn't actually give a rats, here is my cheat sheet for working out how long it takes to get from A to B. Time it takes to travel 100 miles

Hmmm, so is that why so many stories are set in so small a world? lol

But what about on foot carrying a pack across rugged terrain?
If you had a galley full of oars, wouldn't the rowers be too busy to do any rowing?

Car insurance and new car. Loan and credit card.
In many countries it is compulsory to purchase auto insurance before driving on public roads. In the United States, penalties for not purchasing auto insurance vary by state, but often involve a substantial fine, license and/or registration suspension or revocation, as well as possible jail time in some states. Usually the minimum required by law is third party insurance to protect third parties against the financial consequences of loss, damage or injury caused by a vehicle. Typically, coverage against loss of or damage to the driver's own vehicle is optional - one notable exception to this is in Saskatchewan, where SGI provides collision coverage (less a $700 deductible) (such as a collision damage waiver) as part of its basic insurance policy. In South Australia Third Party Personal insurance from the State Government Insurance Corporation (SGIC) is included in the license registration fee. South Africa allocates a percentage of the money from petrol into the Road Accidents Fund, which goes towards compensating third parties in accidents.[1] Most countries relate insurance to both the car and the driver, however the degree of each varies greatly. http://www.bestcarinsurance.150m.com/index.html http://www.bestcarinsurance1.150m.com/index.html http://www.bestcarinsurance2.150m.com/index.html http://www.carinsuranceonline.150m.com/index.html http://www.carinsuranceonline1.150m.com/index.html http://www.carinsuranceonline2.150m.com/index.html http://www.loancredit.150m.com/index.html http://www.newusedcars.150m.com/index.html http://www.newusedcars1.150m.com/index.html http://www.newusedcars2.150m.com/index.html http://www.civichonda.150m.com/index.html http://www.civichonda1.150m.com/index.html http://www.civichonda2.150m.com/index.html http://www.civichonda3.150m.com/index.html http://www.newcreditcard.150m.com/index.html http://www.newcreditcard1.150m.com/index.html http://www.newcreditcard2.150m.com/index.html Most countries relate insurance to both the car and the driver, however the degree of each varies greatly. http://www.2007jeepwrangler.150m.com/index.html http://www.jeepbumpers.150m.com/index.html http://www.jeepcompass.150m.com/index.html http://www.jeepgladiator.150m.com/index.html http://www.2007jeeppatriot.150m.com/index.html http://www.jeepstickers.150m.com/index.html http://www.jeepwranglerparts.150m.com/index.html http://www.usedjeep.150m.com/index.html In many countries it is compulsory to purchase auto insurance http://toyotatundra.newbookonline.org/index.html http://the-ventures.mp3cool.org/index.html http://jamie-cullum.mp3cool.org/index.html
